*About*
In my practice I have found unexpected ways to satisfy my need to understand things in the world that have caught my attention. It may be an experience I have had, something I have observed or the nature of a particular material that drives me to make. Most will simmer slowly in the back of my mind before they are ready and others will come almost fully resolved in an instant. A life lived in foreign lands has been formative in changing my once narrow views and fuelled the ideas behind many of my projects. I search to find a way of working that feel intuitively right for each and this has resulted in performance, installation, jewellery, printmaking, ‘drawing’, video and if any other medium provides the answer, I will go with what calls me.

*Bio*
I was born in Melbourne where my childhood was filled with roaming around thenearby vacant blocks of land with a variety of friends, pestering the baker with his horse and cart for a ride and annoying the postman. School was not a happy place, though lovely friends made at high school helped me to finish matriculation. The firstin the extended family to matriculate, I thought I was headed to University but that didn’t happen until 2000 when I started trying to make for lost time by studying for 8 years, emerging with a BFA (hons), MFA, BAppA. Marriage, three children and many miles and countries had intervened. Now based in Wellington I continue to find interesting projects to involved in, work asa trustee (since 2001) for the Wellington Sculpture Trust, am a founding member of TheSeeHere and a member of Occupation: artist. Whitireia NZ has given me a title (various over the years) that has allowed me to give lectures, team teach and mentorstudents in return for studio space and access to the workshops – a most harmonious partnership.
